In the history of 2500 years, a water city Gu Su, is full of vigour and vitality. During the Spring and Autumn Period, King He Lu of Wu founded the city and ultimately secured the commanding position.
Through the cycles of history, the penchant for “Su” influence was all the rage. The art of “Su”, the synonym of Suzhou vogue, is all-encompassing. From the way of life to attitudes, ranging from clothing wear, the use of utensils, daily diet and regimen, appreciation of paintings and calligraphy, antique collections, opera performances, and language expression. Suzhou customs, which lasted for nearly three centuries from the late Ming Dynasty to the middle Qing Dynasty, was not only a display of distinct practices but also a symbol of taste and identity, connotation and realm, elegance, and refined dignity. Today’s Suzhou, a land of fortune in the eyes of the ancient, is saturated with traditional culture and continues to lead the exquisite “Su” movement.
The artwork collection breaks the boundaries of time and space, boldly uses avant-garde and innovative technology as a medium to embody its historical grandeur, and at the same time emphasizes Suzhou’s worldly vision and wealth of knowledge, as well as the pursuit of sophistication.
