PHILOSOPHY OF THE OLD AND NEW
The river comes and goes in an endless flow, running through Changsha city that preserves the Chu culture and where the famous Yuelu Mountain carries its timeless weight. Amongst its natural and elegant landscape lies the incomparably Chinese Culture, an academy that grants a place of ascetic philosophy where one seeks truth from facts. Traces of immortal poems and articles can be found in Changsha which left a rich and profound cultural legacy in this city.
The passage of time led to a diverse culture that is reflected in the stunning mishmash of Changsha’s traditional monuments and modern architecture. The features of its historical architecture such as the symmetrical layout, geographical variations, and infrastructure of great consistency seemingly formed the identity of Changsha today and inspire, here, artworks that comprise deep profundity that reaches beyond the river.
On the outskirts of the cityscapes and modern infrastructure are the beautiful ancient houses that are built according to the curvature of the mountains. Within the wooden slabs of the traditional folk houses, lie the prevailing folk customs and traditional crafts that shine through the lobby as the guests begin their journey through.
